Project Zero Deforestation and Traceability Digital in Guatemala

Implemented by GIZ and co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), in coordination with the Ministry of Economy. This project strengthens national capacities to ensure value chains more sustainable farming, traceable and free of deforestation. Arises from the Regulation of free products of deforestation implemented by the European Union. 

Table of Trade Sustainable

The Table of Sustainable Trade brings together institutions, productive sector and international cooperation to discuss challenges and opportunities of sustainable trade. Promotes the alignment of policies, good practices and the preparation of the country to global requirements.

Promotion of Sustainable Exports

With the aim of visualising the environmental and social commitment of Guatemala, the Ministry of Economy promotes the country's participation in international trade shows, highlighting products that meet high standards of sustainability. These actions expand the market opportunities, diversify the supply of exports and to consolidate the regional leadership in responsible business.

Partnerships for a Sustainable Trade

Through the cooperation and joint work, the MINECO drives strategic partnerships with international agencies, business chambers and associations productive. These synergies to strengthen the sustainable competitiveness of the country and promote the transition to an economic model that is more responsible, inclusive and respectful with the environment.
